While we work very hard to make sure hockey is nothing but fun for your child, the first season may feel a bit confusing for youOur New Mite Family Guide contains a lot of information that will help you navigate your first year of being a CRYHA Mite parent!

I AM NEW TO HOCKEY, HOW DOES THIS ALL WORK??

Once the Junior Cardinal Camp is over (held every Fall- see the Junior Cardinal Camp page) we hold what is called the "Mite Skills Camp".  This camp is for those who are registered for the regular season and is included in your registration.  The purpose of this camp is to get your player ready for HEP testing.

HEP testing is where the players are broken up into different sessions and are run through a series of drills in which they are timed.  All scores are entered into a spreadsheet and then sorted.  HEP scores is how we determine where your player will land (A, U8, B, C or D mite).  We do this to ensure we have even teams.

Sometimes we are able to have an U8 team, which is an all-girls team and is considered more of a traveling team similar to the A and B mites.

For Registration you will need:

1. A copy of your child's birth certificate (if new to Coon Rapids Hockey)
2. USA Hockey registration, done online
3. $500 volunteer check (checks are NOT cashed unless your volunteer hours go unfulfilled)

The season will go through the end of February where the C and D Mites will have in an in house Jamboree.

Your team schedule and info will all be housed through this site and accessible through the SportsEngine Mobile app, visit our SE Help Page for more info!
