Why Play Hockey?! Because Hockey is Fun!!!
The sport of hockey is exciting, exhilarating and entertaining for both kids and parents and when compared to other travel sports, the cost and commitment are quite similar.
The CRYHA is committed to excellence though sportsmanship, player development, and teamwork.
Hockey is a team sport, children learn how to rely on teammates and understand that cooperation is key to success. Players build trust with teammates, responsibility and sportsmanship. Hockey promotes a strong sense of self, builds a team-player, and builds a positive self-esteem.

Minnesota Hockey is community based & kids are playing with their buddies from school and make friends for life! MN hockey turns out more Division 1 athletes than any state in the country!

COLD WEATHER RULE
The outdoor ice rink at Coon Rapids Ice Center will close if the air temperature reaches -5 or the wind chill reaches -20.
An optional closure will be offered if the air temperature is below zero or -10 wind chill. In this event, if any players skate, payment for ice time will be due. Scheduled ice will require payment if temperatures are above zero or -10 wind chill regardless if players skate or not.
